Unwavering dedication, commitment to action, and concern for others are the words that capture the character of the members of the Board of Directors at The Children’s Center for Developmental Enrichment and its school Oakstone Academy.  Together with founders, Rebecca Morrison Ph.D. and Nikki Kerns, M.S., the board works to support the mission of the organization through its leadership and professional expertise.

Board Bios

 

Doug Brown

 

Doug Brown works with senior executives on building personal excellence and high performance teams through his leadership coaching business, BUILT TO LEAD. He also serves as Chairman of Wyandot, Inc., a leading custom manufacturer of snack foods and cereals, founded by his grandfather in 1936.  Doug has chaired university and foundation boards, led capital campaigns, and is one of Oakstone's founding parents. He and his wife, Karen, have two children. Their son, Matthew, has been an Oakstone student since the school opened.

 

 

Lisa Lawless

 

Lisa Lawless’ career spans a broad spectrum of organizational sizes and specialties: from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, from local and regional retailers to international business conglomerates; from niche agencies to health, education and child development advocacy groups and nonprofits. In 2008, Ms. Lawless joined CoreLogis, LLC, a logistic and supply chain technology firm, where she acts as both majority owner and Principal Managing Member.  Using her corporate experience, she has led business initiatives, resulting in the development of a dozen  strategic team oriented relationships; driven an average 20 percent revenue growth annually; and led workforce development through her relationships with industry experts and leadership.  Utilizing her professional communication expertise, Ms. Lawless is committed to giving back to the community and has served on several executive and advisory boards during her career.

 

 

Elliot Brody

 

Elliott Brody has spent his career serving many different executive leadership roles within the managed care field - leading sales, acting as account manager, and supervising operational teams.  With a combined 25 years’ experience with Anthem and Quantum Health, Brody has served in many capacities, bringing his expertise to the Board.  As one of Oakstone’s founding families, he and his wife Esther have played an important role in its development.  They have two sons, Matthew and Evan, the latter of whom was a graduate of Oakstone Academy.

 

 

Dan Clark

 

Dan Clark is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the labor and employment group.  He has significant experience with employment discrimination cases, wage and hour class actions and collective actions, the enforcement of non-competition agreements, collective bargaining, and union issues. Dan has lectured on topics relating to harassment training, employee relations, workplace investigations, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Dan received his J.D. with honors from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law.  He also participated in the Ohio State Summer Law Program at Oxford University in 2000.  He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Wittenberg University where he received the Jeffery Mao Award in Political Science and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
