Student Travel

 

From visiting historical sites stateside to traveling across the ocean, school trips provide a learning opportunity not available in the classroom.  Hardly anyone would disagree that travel has many benefits for students such as learning flexibility, independence and experiencing different cultures and ideas.  At Oakstone Academy student travel is one of the key components of the middle and high school experience.

 

Depending on the destination, concepts from English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and the Arts are integrated throughout the school year in a manner that capitalizes on the learner's travel experience.  Learning objectives throughout the school year are used to tailor the experience for the highest level of educational benefit.  All students have a responsibility throughout the trip to participate in a group learning project that will be used upon return to document their experience.
